- The standard, classic Masterblend nutrient recipe is: 2.4 g Masterblend per gallon, 2.4 g calcium nitrate per gallon, and 1.2 g magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) per gallon. For lettuce and other leafy greens that do better at lower nutrient concentrations, use: 2.0 g Masterblend per gallon, 2.0 g calcium nitrate per gallon, and 1.0 g magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) per gallon.
